I don't know if anyone has heard of this yet. My friend Sara e-mailed it to me (she works in the senate). I was going to send it around as an e-mail, but I thought this would be better. I did sign the list. I feel that this is important:

I'm always a little reticent to back stuff like this because I feel like I don't have enough information. What is the name and number of the exact law congress is "pushing"? What is the other side of the story (considering I don't hold with the view that congress likes to push legislation through for lobbyists when nobody is looking)?
It does sound like a bad idea though. Regulating the internet would have both pluses and minuses, but I think for now it's pretty clear the unregulated nature of the net is what is making it thrive.
Hmmm . . . all good points, Coach. I did think it was worth a look-see, however. And I liked this approach better than the mass e-mail thing, which was the way that I got it. I guess my immediate response was, "They're doing WHAT?" I should ask my friend who sent it some more specifics. Thanks for reminding me of the other side of things - there always is another side to every issue.
Oh, DEFINITELY better than mass e-mail, in my opinion. :-)
Thanks for getting the word out.
